The ceremony was a unique event in the square’s two hundred year history, which brought together all its key constituents for the very first time, including two families bereaved on 7/7 and representatives from all three emergency services who attended the scene that day.
In her speech, The Duchess of Bedford expressed the desire to "make the memorial happen".
